Therapy vs Coaching

Understanding how your coverage applies to different types of ADHD support.

Diagnosis & Therapy

Diagnosis & Therapy

ResilienceADHD is an out-of-network provider. This allows us to prioritize clinical care over insurance mandates.

Your credit card will be billed for the full value of the session the evening after your appointment. We do not accept Medicaid, Apple Health, or state assistance.

Contact your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits for diagnostic evaluations and clinical therapy.

Coaching Support

Coaching Support

Coaching is focused on executive function and skill-building. It is rarely reimbursable as a medical service by standard insurers.

Pro Tip: Employer plans like HSA or FSA may cover coaching services. Check with your benefits coordinator to verify eligibility.

We provide detailed receipts that can be used for HSA/FSA documentation or tax purposes where applicable.

ADHD Coaching

Available nationwide and internationally. Our ADHD coaching is not bound by state lines, allowing you to work with our expert team from anywhere.

Clinical Therapy

While coaching is global, our clinical diagnosis and therapy services are available to residents in these licensed states.

Makeup Appointment Policy

Consistency is the cornerstone of progress. Your monthly commitment secures a dedicated weekly time slot reserved exclusively for you.

We require at least a 48 hour notice for cancellations, or notice of sudden illness on the day of your appointment.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, we offer a makeup window within the same calendar month, pending availability.

Common Questions About Fees & Care

While they work beautifully together, ADHD Therapy and ADHD Coaching have different focuses. Therapy is a licensed clinical service (available in specific states) that helps you process emotions, regulate your mood, and heal from past challenges. Coaching, on the other hand, is all about the “here and now.” It’s an action-oriented partnership available nationwide that helps you build practical systems for things like time management and productivity.

We operate as an out-of-network provider, but we aim to make the reimbursement process as simple as possible. We provide a Superbill (a detailed clinical receipt) that you can upload directly to your insurance portal or app. If you’d like to check your coverage beforehand, call your insurance provider and ask: “What is my out-of-network reimbursement rate for CPT code 90834?”

Because insurance companies usually see ADHD coaching as an “educational” or “wellness” service rather than a medical necessity, it typically isn’t covered by standard health plans. The good news? Many of our clients successfully use their HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account) to pay for coaching. We always recommend a quick check with your plan administrator just to be sure!

Absolutely! In fact, many of our clients find that a “dual-track” approach is the fastest way to see progress. While therapy helps you clear the emotional hurdles and mindset blocks of ADHD, coaching gives you the tactical tools to handle your daily to-do list. Our team stays in sync behind the scenes to make sure your therapy and coaching goals are perfectly aligned.
